The idea

In the Creator edition, Codex is built directly below the 3D view: users can talk to it without leaving MoteurMetal, annotate a part or capture an area, then request a creation or edit. Codex prepares the change inside the app while the user keeps control before applying it. The workshop also supports manual part editing, materials, an asset library, proportion checks, collisions and exports.

Where does it stand?

The state described in the notebook and ideas for what comes next, with no promised release date.

Today

  • Version 0.15 runs locally on Apple Silicon Macs with macOS 15 or later.
  • The library includes buildings, vehicles, natural assets, props and 32 procedural materials.
  • Native shapes, Euclid, ShapeScript and Manifold build volumes without Blender.
  • Codex is built directly into the Creator window, with chat, part annotations, area capture and prepared 3D changes.
  • Version 0.15 protects the Codex bridge, bounds files and textures, and removes personal build paths.
  • Public downloads are temporarily paused until Developer ID signing and Apple notarisation are available.

What’s next

  • Sign and notarise the app with an Apple Developer account for simpler installation.
  • Add more models, materials and composition tools.
  • Validate exports in the first MoteurMetal game on Mac and iPhone.
  • Prepare public distribution of the assistant once the Codex interface is stable.

Project notebook

  • Version 0.15 hardened after audit with per-session Codex authorization, prepare-only plugin access, resource limits and isolated packaging. Downloads are paused pending official Apple signing.

  • Version 0.14 published with a per-window Codex conversation and fifteen bounded tools for reading, capture and 3D preparation.

  • Euclid, ShapeScript and Manifold join the workshop alongside a starter library and 32 procedural materials.

  • The project begins as a Codex-controllable Apple game engine.
